NANDA VIGO

BIOGRAPHY

Nanda Vigo (b. 1936) is an Italian female artist, and considered a true pioneer of contemporary Italian sculpture, installation and architecture. She is particularly drawn to exploring the phenomenological effects of light and space in her visually enigmatic light sculptures, luminous installations and series of interior environments, through the use of glass, mirrors and neon lights. Due to her extensive travels and exhibitions around Europe from the late 1950s, Vigo became closely acquainted and associated with the Group Zero movement and its extended international members, creating the Zero House in Milan from 1962 and partaking in numerous exhibitions held by the Zero Group between 1964 and 1966.
