BIOGRAPHY

Grazia Varisco (1937) is an Italian artist recognized for her mesmerizing light kinetic objects, and being one of the earliest artists to experiment with notions of movement, passage of time and light in forms of simple geometry in motion, while seeking a direct interaction with her audience. Her rotating compositions with overlapping screens, produces a captivating effect on the viewer and even disorientated the senses. In their continuous variations and repetitions, not only inhabiting the space around then, but extending special dimensions even further. Varisco was also a member of the Italian Group T, one of the most important collectives of kinetic art in Europe, introducing innovations into the concept and perception of time as a new content of art.
